Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 February 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Nafsi ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to respecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

We collect only the information necessary to provide Nafsi's core journaling and reflection features.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

We do not collect precise location data, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or camera data.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

3. Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of third-party services to operate the App. These services process data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.

3.1 RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect anonymous device identifiers and purchase transaction data to verify subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive your journal content. For more information, see RevenueCat's privacy policy.

3.2 Resend (Email Delivery)

When you submit a support request through the in-app contact form, your message is delivered via Resend, a third-party email delivery service. Resend processes the name, email address, and message content you provide solely to deliver the email. For more information, see Resend's privacy policy.

3.3 Sentry (Crash Reporting)

We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error logs so we can identify and fix issues in the App. Sentry is configured with a privacy-first approach: it does not collect your IP address, email, username, or any personally identifiable information. Data collected is limited to device type, operating system version, app version, and technical error details. No journal content, personal data, or usage tracking data is sent to Sentry. For more information, see Sentry's privacy policy.

3.4 Third-Party Content and Links

The App may open external websites (such as Quran.com) using a system in-app browser. When you visit third-party sites, their own privacy policies apply. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites.

4. Notifications

With your permission, the App may send local notifications to your device. These include daily reflection reminders, streak alerts, milestone celebrations, weekly summaries, and other motivational prompts. All notifications are generated and scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to our servers or any third party.

You can manage notification preferences within the App's settings or through your device's system settings at any time.

5. Payments and Subscriptions

Premium features are available through auto-renewable subscriptions processed via Apple's In-App Purchase system. We do not collect or store your payment or credit card details. Subscription management, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple through your Apple ID account settings.

6. Data Storage and Security

All journal data is stored locally on your device by default. No account creation is required to use the App.

Premium subscribers may optionally back up their data to our secure cloud servers. Cloud backups are encrypted in transit and at rest.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information using industry-standard security practices. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. Cloud backup data (if applicable) is retained only for as long as necessary to provide the service, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

To exercise any of these rights or request deletion of cloud backup data, contact us at nafsi.quranjournal@gmail.com.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Data is only shared with the third-party service providers listed in Section 3, solely to operate the App.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App, with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
